A new attitude!

Every hair cut appointment for the past 2 years has gone exactly the same. I call Erin that morning and say "I think I want to cut my hair"...she says "go for it"...Then I get to the salon and chicken out. Luckily Erin is very patient and finds me amusing. Tuesday was no different. Except this time I found a cut I liked on the internet and made her go check it out and.......
Here I am, short & blonde!
So far I love it. I will actually have to "do" my hair every day though. Brandon LOVED it! Hudson like it too. Connor does not like it and has asked me multiple times how long it will take for my old hair to grow back.

At home...week 2!

The rest of the family is at church right now. I really wanted to join them, but sitting in the same spot for an hour is just not something I can do yet. Not comfortably anyway. The past week I have felt so good. Frustrated, but good. I am healing great. I plan to start driving this week and wow that will make things so much better. It sucks to have to rely on others to go anywhere. On Monday Katina visited and brought over 2 pot pies. She makes AWESOME pot pie! Whenever I open the freezer and see the second one sitting there I actually smile. She also took me grocery shopping and of course a trip to the new house. Tuesday Erin came over to hang out with me & the boys and do lots of laundry and change the sheets. This was extra sweet considering this is her one day of the week when she does not have to work and both her kids are in school. She used her "me time" on us. Mindy made us a pot roast that night and I must say it is better than mine. Not an easy thing to admit! On Wednesday Erin was back to take the boys to school and me to the Doctor. Thursday Shelley came over to absorb the boys energy for a while. We got to take them outside to bike ride and swim. And of course she got on the floor to have a picnic with them and play some candy land! Friday Sherry came by for some chick chat and took me to run errands. It has been wonderful having all of this help. Though I am really looking forward to getting back to my old self.
Progress on the house is awesome. We are setting some kind of a record for how much money one family can spend in a month. Lets see. This week alone the house got a new roof and a new central A/C system. Last week was the re plumbing of the entire house. Next week comes the new security system. The laundry / mudroom is prepped and ready to go....almost. Now I need to pick out tile, paint, storage, cabinets, counter tops....oh my! I really do not enjoy decorating so this has been a challenge for me. Though now that I have a clear picture of what I want the room to be it is getting easier. Here are some before pics of the outside of the house. (remember, it was a foreclosure)
Brandon is very excited about getting a riding lawn mower and a chain saw!

The boys LOVE school so far. I asked Connor about his teacher the other day and he said "I love Mrs. J". They are making friends and having fun. I am so excited that they get to go to a school where they already know the teachers and feel comfortable. The music teacher is the same one they have in Sunday school. The teacher for chapel time is the same one they have on Sunday mornings for their worship time. I only wish they could stay there a few more years!!
