Hudson's Halloween song

Trick or Treat
Smell my feet
Give me something good to eat
You don't mind
I'll pull your under pants down!

I am not going to correct him. It is just too funny to see peoples reaction when he sings it!

Stress

So we think we found a house we like. Only problem is if we put in an offer on it we would be moving the first week in December. Oh, and we are due to move out of our current home the first week in November. Anyone see a problem with this? Yes, we will be homeless for a month! So, needless to say I am slightly stressed. For some reason Brandon does not seem stressed at all. Hello!!! I need to transfer our mail....where? I need to have our bills sent to...where? Oh, and I need to put the kids to bed... where? I will need to cook meals....where?
And don't forget we leave for vacation very very soon as well! I need a drink... a big one!
I know I haven't been great at blogging lately, but I am dealing with the whole house thing and it is making me crazier than usual. Anyone know of a vacant house where we can stay for 4 weeks? Maybe I should take out an ad: Nice family needs shelter for the month of November. Promise to clean up after selves and cook own meals.

We girls love our bad boys

On Monday I kept Olivia for a few hours while Erin went to work. Connor had school and it is actually easier to have Hudson and Olivia rather than just Hudson. At least then he has someone to play with other than me. I took them grocery shopping (I know, BRAVE!) I made them use the potty before we left so I was pretty sure things would be just fine. We got a race car cart and they each got a cookie. Olivia had taken a couple of bites out of hers and she dropped it. We went back and got another one. She got full before she finished it and asked Hudson, who had finished his cookie in 3 bites, if he would like the rest of hers. He looked at her the way Brandon looks at me when I tell him I have made homemade risotto for dinner. He took the cookie and said "Olivia, you're the best girlfriend in the whole world". Even the stock boy turned around and made a comment about how cute they were. Later in the day Olivia climbed into the refrigerator part of our play kitchen and Hudson held the door closed until she cried. I guess he just didn't want her to think he was "too nice".

Babysitters

Last Thursday I really needed to get some stuff done around the house so I asked Sam to come over and hang out with the boys. Sam is a kid from our church. He is 11 years old and a really great kid. The boys thought it was so cool to have a boy "babysitter". Connor kept asking me when I was going to leave! Sam did the dishes, he helped Connor with his homework (without being asked) and he offered to help me pack while the boys watched a cartoon. He carried garbage downstairs and boxes upstairs. He was awesome! Not sure how many 11 year old boys I could say all of that nice stuff about. I guess that is one advantage to having 2 boys. I can have a boy babysitter. Brandon always wished he was allowed to babysit as a teenager, but no one ever asked.
That is one thing we have really been blessed with, great babysitters. Tara, Danielle, Amelia and now Sam. Not to mention all of the adults who help us out.

The battle begins

You are all familiar with the food battles we went through with Connor. If you are not, just read some posts from about a year ago. Be warned, there was a lot of puking! Since then the kid has made a complete turn around. He eats squash, edamame ( soy beans), beans of all kinds, sausage, just about everything we give him. The only food he still hates is broccoli. It is all about the texture. That's OK, cause I use broccoli as my threat food. You know, "you better eat that or I will make you broccoli!". Sorry, broccoli, but I had to do it!

Hudson has always eaten whatever we gave him. I never cooked special for him. I learned my lesson with the Connor. That being said, Hudson has been on a stubborn streak with food lately. For example, last night he refused to eat anything but green beans. So, when Connor was done eating he and Brandon headed out for a bike ride and Hudson sat at the table. I got up and did the dishes and told him that as soon as he finished his sausage and potatoes he could join them. He sat there for 40 minutes and never took another bite. Then he sat in time out for 10 minutes then I sent him upstairs. That kid is hard headed!!! But don't worry, Brandon and I are well trained in the food battle. And we are planning a surge. We all know how well a surge can work!

Night time routine

Our new nighttime routine has been bringing me much joy lately. The boys go to bed about 8:30. Then sometime between 10 and 11, when Brandon and I go to bed we go upstairs and Brandon wakes up Connor and walks him to the bathroom. Last night Connor actually sat down on the ground he was so tired. One night he got up out of bed and immediately turned back around and got back into bed. Anyway, Brandon walks him to the bathroom so he can pee and wake up dry. I walk him back to bed and sometimes he doesn't even get all the way into bed before he falls back asleep. Brandon goes & gets Hudson who never wakes up. He carries Hudson to the bathroom we take off his pants and sit him on the potty. We tell him to pee and he does. However he NEVER even opens his eyes. We have to hold him up or he falls over. Then Brandon holds him up while I pull up his pants. Brandon carries him back to bed and the kid has no idea what happened. Every night we crack up. I need to take some video of this one night so I don't forget how precious this time is!
Oh, and since we started doing this, Hudson has been sleeping until 7, instead of 6!

The search

Last week we looked at houses for a few hours, Brandon parents & Justin & Erin watched the kids. We went and looked at houses on Sunday for a few hours. Brett & Erin watched the kids for us. Then last night we went and looked at houses for a few more hours. This time Katina watched the kids for us. Hopefully by the time we buy a house the kids will still recognize us. We found one we like. Actually Brandon loves it. I think wow, that's a lot of bathrooms to clean and wow that kitchen is really white and wow can we afford this and now my tummy hurts again! I am sure Brandon thinks some of the same things, but he loves this house. Who knows if they will even accept our offer. The house really is beautiful but I hate to get my hopes up. We are going to throw in an offer and see what happens. I think we may wait until after our NY trip and our move. That way I can freak out about one thing at a time. Did I mention my tummy hurts?
Over the next few weeks I need to call everyone and change our address. I need to pack to move and oh yeah, pack for vacation too. Thank goodness we are going to see family so I can maybe relax a little while we are there. Rina, if you could have some rum on hand... that would be appreciated!
I am off to look at pics of that house again and wonder....is this the one?

Love to hear percussion

Connor has been attending music class for few weeks now. He loves it. This weeks homework was to create a percussion instrument. You know the Woods never do anything half way. So Brandon cut one of the garbage cans from the shop. Then he let Connor help him sand it down and paint it. Here is what they came up with. They named it the SMASH. It is soooo loud! Too loud!

Notice Hudson in the bottom left.... I felt the same way!
