After Graduation

After Connor's graduation we really wanted to get out of there as fast a possible. We were really trying to down play the graduation part as Connor will still be in preschool next year. Actually we even skipped the end of year party since there was so much "graduation" focus.
Soooo, after the ceremony Brandon took the boys and grabbed the boat and I grabbed pizza and we all met at the dock.

Connor learned how to drive the boat. Good thing. Maybe he can drive it onto the trailer better than his Momma!!

They LOVED the tube! Connor was mad we wouldn't let him knee board!

This is Brandon pulling the boat around to drive it onto the trailer after my 3rd attempt failed and I jumped off the boat.

This was our first time putting the boat in the water. Brandon did a great job pulling down the ramp. Then, he jumped in the boat and the boys and I went to park the truck & trailer. I was doing a pretty good job until I hit a post and maybe knocked it over (or something like that). That was not quite as big of a mistake as Brandon getting in the boat WITHOUT the keys!! He just drifted around. He jumped out of the boat and tried to hold it steady near the dock with a rope. Well.... it floated over the ropes into the swimming only area. I got him the keys and then we were stuck in the swimming only area! Luckily we kept our cool and got it all figured out and were even laughing about it. We rarely fight so hopefully we can keep this attitude during our boating adventures! Oh, when we went to leave Brandon jumped off and went to get the trailer. He told me to pull the boat onto the trailer. After 3 tries I begged him to do it himself. Guess this is going to take some practice! But, it was worth it for all of the fun we had!

Graduation (sort of)

Last week was Connor's graduation from Pre-K. However he will be in Pre-K for one more year. His birthday is in July so we have made the decision to delay Kindergarten for a year. After much conversation and research we decided this is what is best for Connor. Academically he is ready for Kindergarten. His teacher assured me of this. He is reading and writing. However we would rather him be a little older before he starts school.

Getting ready for Graduation.

In August Connor & Hudson will both be attending the preschool at our church. We love this school and now that we live just minutes away we are very excited for the kids to attend. We know the teacher and love that they will be going to church as well as learning the usual preschool stuff. Now we just need to find a house to buy around here. The rental is getting old..FAST! Though we are loving having a pool.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend was jam packed with fun & friends. Friday and Saturday were filled with John & Judy's wedding. Then on Sunday we went to Heidi & Don's for a BBQ. As usual we had a great time. The kids enjoyed swimming with friends and we got to spend time with a group of people from church who we usually just get to say hi to in passing.
Then on Monday we invited BERO, Maxwell & Mindy, Freddy & Katina & all of the kids to join us at the beach in our neighborhood for some fun in the sun. We each packed a picnic and the kids had a blast splashing around for hours!!!

By the end of the weekend we were beat!!! But it was all worth it!

John & Judy (actually lots of Tara)

The weekend of Memorial Day we were privileged to be witness to one of our favorite couples renewal of their wedding vows. John & Judy are a true inspiration to every couple they meet. Their love for each other is so wonderful you just can't help but look at your own spouse in a different way. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows and it was wonderful! The night before we attended their rehearsal dinner and as usual had a blast!!

Connor hung out with Judy to protect him from the dog.
Hudson had fun with Tara & JohnWhen he got hurt they even took care of himHudson loves his TaraAnd when it was time to sleep he just stayed right where he was...It has been over a year since he fell asleep on me! Should I be jealous? No way.... we just feel super lucky to have these amazing people in our lives!

Mom's visit

The week before Memorial Day my mother and brother came into town for a couple of days to visit. I had planned on all of us spending a day on the boat and a day at the beach and lots of fun outdoor type stuff. Mother nature had other plans. It RAINED from the moment they got here until the moment they left. You may have seen it on the news. I have never seen it rain like that before. So, we had a change of plans. One day we went to Birthday World and out for pizza. Then another day it was board games, board games, board games! Candy Land!Uncle Dave spent the whole time "transforming" the toys Grandma brought for the boys.

Boat

We bought a boat. I know, I know...we are supposed to be buying a house. But, since we can't find one of those, we bought a boat! Here are some pics from before we cleaned it. You would think I would have taken pics afterwards, but I didn't.

The boys are ready to go!

They love the seats up front. They are pretty sure the seats were made just for them.

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day gifts included roses from Brandon, a "hand made" card from Hudson and a flower pen and a card from Connor. Here is what Connor filled out in his card. In case you can't see it, it says:
I like it when my Mom cooks me dinner
My Mom can do many things, I thinks she is best at taking care of us
My Mom is 33 years old
She is 6 ft. tall and weighs 4 pounds
Her hair is brown and her eyes are I have no idea
My Mom has a pretty smile. i make her smile by making funny faces
My Mom is smart. She even knows how to brush her teeth and do a sinus rinseToo cute! We had a great Mother's Day. Brandon made me french toast in bed. Though he said I need to think of something else next year since he is pretty sure I don't really like breakfast in bed. I am always worried about spilling syrup on the sheets. After church we headed over to Brandon parents for a yummy lunch of filets cooked by Pops and twice baked potatoes and yummy corn salad cooked by Justin. It was a relaxing day just enjoying some family time.

Hi-Yah!

Connor earned his yellow belt in karate class. He was so proud of himself. He loves karate and I think we will continue with it for a while. When he got home I made him put on his uniform so I could snap some pics. I may have put the belt on wrong, but I tried my best.

Howdy partner!

Connor asked me to get him a cowboy hat so he could wear it when he sings rock n' roll. He runs all over the house singing Def Leppard & Van Halen. I am not sure why the cowboy hat is necessary. Maybe he caught me watching Bret Michael's on Rock of Love? Anyway.... there was a red cowboy hat in Wal-Mart for $5. Red would not be my first choice, but it was $5 so it came home. He has not taken it off since. In fact right now as I write this he is walking around in his pajamas and cowboy hat!

weekend fun

This weekend was full of family fun. It started out with Connor being chosen as star student and getting to bring home Berkley the bear for the weekend again. You will notice him in a few pics. The first thing Berkely got to do was spend some time in the freezer to kill any germs on him. That evening Maxwell, Mindy & Max came over for dinner. Then we all went outside to play. Some of our new neighbors were outside with their children and we invited them in when it got dark out (as to avoid the bears!) The kids all had a blast together. The have a 5 year old boy and a little girl who is almost 3. Brandon and the kids had fun sneaking whipped cream before dinner!!On Saturday we got up early and played with the boys Star Wars fort that i made them out of old boxes. They loved it!Then we left for Connor's soccer game, but on the way we stopped at BERO's to get a snow cone from Ryan's new stand. It was so cute!!!Next, it was on to the game...Connor scored a great goal! When we got home Connor was so happy to see that his EBAY purchase of storm troopers had arrived. He used his own money and was so proud!Next we met up with BERO for some swimming and then had family movie night. The kids loved Space Chimps!
On Sunday all of the ladies wore hats to church to raise money for a battered women's shelter. After church we headed over to Justin & Erin's to check out their new house. They are in the beginning stages of remodeling it and I am sure it will be awesome when it is done. Luckily they have plenty of time before the baby gets here. We find out in 2 weeks if we are getting another niece or nephew. The boys went on a bike ride Sunday night and then it was early to bed....for ALL of us!
