More Christmas traditions

At this rate I just might finish all of the Christmas posts before Valentines Day...well, maybe. The first tradition is our new friend Lucky. You see one evening Lucky showed up at our home. There he was, just hanging out on our television. We were all pretty surprised to see him. Thankfully there was a book beneath him to explain what our visitor was doing there. The book told us that Santa had sent us an Elf to watch over us. He would spend the day at our home and then every evening while we slept he would travel back to the North Pole and report our behavior to Santa. The good, the bad, the ugly...all of it! Then every morning Lucky hid in a new spot waiting for us to find him. Oh, and we even got to name him! The last 2 weeks before Christmas were pretty cool thanks to Lucky. Anytime the boys did something extra nice I reminded them that Lucky was watching and would probably tell Santa. And anytime they misbehaved I would just have to say the word "Lucky" and they would become little angels!Do you think the Easter Bunny could send us a peep to watch out for him? How about The Birthday Frog? I love the Elf on The Shelf! The other tradition I "borrowed" from our friends, The Moseley's. For the past 3 years we get a small cake and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas Eve. Usually I get a small plain birthday cake. This year the boys were with me and they insisted that Jesus would just love this cake made to look like a cup of hot cocoa.I love that this is the last thing we do before bed on Christmas Eve as it helps remind the kids one more time what we are truly celebrating!
