Egg coloring

For the past 2 years we have colored eggs with BERO (for my new readers that's Brett, Erin, Ryan & Olivia)) and this year was no different. They had a blast coloring the eggs, but the stuff i bought for the decorating part did not work so great so I improvised and grabbed a bunch of glitter glue and well..the pictures really speak for themselves.
This year we moved the project outside....GOOD idea!Yes, we did 4 dozen eggs!!Then the kids wanted to stick their toes in the pool....Then they just flat out asked for bathing suits so they could jump right in! Olivia looked so cute in Hudson's clothes.Ryan must have some pretty thick skin. He dove in and swam around the water and never even shivered! The Woods' boys re-thinking their decision to get in. It was freezing!
After eggs Erin made us all breakfast for dinner and it was YUMMY! Connor even ate bacon!

My best friend

This post started out by being about our weekend leading up to Easter and then it took a turn that brought tears to my eyes. And well if something has the ability to make ME cry, then I should go with it! On Friday Erin & I went to dinner to just enjoy some alone time. Olivia hasn't started school yet so we are NEVER in a room alone or even able to have a conversation on the phone without having to stop to take care of a child. Next school year Olivia is in school the opposite days of our boys so I guess lunches are still out. Our hubbies loved the calm, happy, refreshed mood we came home in. And I loved the one on one time to just laugh with my friend. When I moved to FL my best friends were my cousins and I have always had a bunch of friends, but haven't had someone I would call a best friend since High School. I am not the kind of girl who talks on the phone much or is very "girly" in the sense that I have to run things by a bunch of other women. I never imagined meeting someone who I would feel like a kid again with. I always knew who Erin was since we lived in the same neighborhood and I always thought we would get along well, but we didn't have kids the same age and that is usually a good start to a friendship. Then when we found out we were pregnant at the same time it gave us a start to our friendship. I still can't believe that was almost 4 years ago! Besides Brandon, the only person I talk to on a daily basis is Erin. It is nice to have someone who understand my personality quirks and loves me anyways! I really don't know what I would do without her! Boys...when Mommy is driving you crazy go talk to Erin she will always be able to explain your Mommy to you, always have a cookie for you and always love you!

Nude Beach?

The first time we took the kids to the beach we weren't exactly prepared. We were just stopping by to play at the park and maybe a little on the sand. That wasn't exactly what happened..... Hudson HAD TO test the waterThen, Connor kicked our soccer ball in and HAD TO go get itThen they noticed the shells and just HAD TO dig for someThen they just HAD TO start running in and out of the water. They were having way too much fun to stop them...Then they realized it was about 65 degrees out and maybe a little too cold to swim...
Drowned rats!! Too bad we didn't bring towels or extra clothes! Then they HAD TO drive home NAKED with the heater on! They laughed the whole way!

Palm Sunday

I haven't had a chance to edit the video yet, but here are some backstage pics.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Sunday before Easter we went to an Easter Egg hunt at a local neighborhood. Actually it is more like a Run & Grab. No real hunting involved! They separate the kids by age and luckily the 3 and 4 year olds were together. They boys had a blast and as usual great technique! After the boys filled their baskets Brandon noticed a little girl who only had 2 eggs in her basket. Her Mom said it was her first time and she was shy. Brandon asked Connor if he would share some eggs with her and he walked right over and proceeded to fill her basket. Even Hudson followed and they filled her basket! I was so proud that it only took one word from Brandon and there wasn't any resistance. All week long after that when Connor says his prayers at night he has added in the line "help us to know that all people in the world need help".
I loved that the eggs were filled with mostly little toys and not candy!

What's going on....

So here's how the past couple of weeks have gone.....the condensed version of course....

Brandon took Connor to a party at Birthday World...FUN

Rehearsal for The Last Supper on Maundy Thursday

Maxwell & Mindy had us over for dinner...always a good time

2 dear church members both VERY young died of cancer within a year of diagnosis. Still seems unreal.

We have spent time at the local park / beach in the neighborhood, but it really deserves it's own post and will get one.

Boys both got sick. As usually Hudson got well first. That kids immune system is awesome!

Had Max over for an afternoon of coloring Easter Eggs with the boys. It was his first time over someones house without his parents.

We got Tara & John's reception site booked for their wedding. They have asked me to act as their wedding planner. LOVE THEM!

Hudson is 39 1/2" and 38lbs.

Took the boys to watch Tara in a Crew race vs. Duke. UCF swept the entire meet! Go Knights!!

Went to a fun wedding at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Boys sang at church on Palm Sunday (this will also have its own post complete with video)

Took the boys to an Easter Egg hunt (another post coming soon)

Oh, still looking for a house. Kind of getting frustrated, but we are still loving this neighborhood. I watched the elementary school at release time the other day and over 100 kids came out and got onto bikes to ride home!! They were adorable. I wonder if anyone will think it's weird when Connor's little brother rides his bike to pick him up in Kindergarten?

Now Brandon wants a boat. I would like a house first, but I have a feeling a boat will be easier to find!

I'm still here

I got a call from Brandon this morning saying "Are you ever going to blog again?"

YES... last week was spring break for the kids so I tried to stay away from the computer as much as possible and this past week was the Last Supper at church and I have just been exhausted. Tomorrow morning there is a new episode of Transformers and a new Phineas & Ferb (the boys favorite show). So, tomorrow morning I will be a bad mom and let the boys watch 2 cartoons and get some blogging done. Don't tell DCF!

Just a bike ride away.....

The neighborhood we are renting in and looking to buy in has a community beach. I always thought it would be cool to have a community pool, but this is even better. The following is only a bike ride away! This neighborhood is like a "Mayberry" in the middle of a city. We love it! People wave when you drive by. Neighbors come out to greet each other and we already know so many people here. Now we just need to find the right house for us. We have been searching for a while. All the houses we like, we can't afford and all the houses we can afford, we don't like. I think we are going to have to buy a cheaper house and then remodel it. The idea of that does NOT sound like fun to me as I hate decorating. I can't even imagine remodeling!! But, I think we may have to suck it up and do that. For now we are just going to enjoy all this neighborhood has to offer!!

Cruise 2009

It has been hard to find the time to blog about this years cruise, so I thought I would just post some pics. Then I had a hard time narrowing down the pics. So, here are waaaaay too many pics of our cruise this year.

The first thing we did when we got on the boat was look for Katina by screaming her name in the hallway. This is a good way to find your friend when you have no idea what room they are in.

Next, take a quick pic...Then hand the map to Brett & Brandon so they can memorize the layout of the boat and then throw away the map...Next, take a self portrait. You know, because there aren't 4 other people there who could easily take your pic without your arm sticking way out....I forgot my camera the first night, so I don't have any pics...luckily I don't have any memories either. hehe The next day we were in Key West. We saw dolphins.

We kayaked. Well, mostly I sat back and took pictures...I picked up the paddle for a minute. We went snorkeling. There aren't any pics of Brandon snorkeling since the second after this pic was taken I promptly hopped out of the water and let Brandon go have fun without me. It was cold and they had rum on the boat...you understand. He saw a sting ray and a shark. Oh, and our new underwater camera worked great! My favorite part of Key West was definitely pie on a stick. That's right Key Lime Pie, dipped in chocolate, on a stick! I KNOW!!!YES...Brett sang Karaoke. And yes, that man with his hands up in the front row did jump up and high-5 him during the instrumental break. He brings the house down every time! Our table was so close to the window, and....

A Scottish rugby team who played bag pipes at dinner!!!! I love bagpipes!Freddy only ate 6 lobsters this time. He was on a diet.Fancy nightAt the end of a fun cruise...

I would share more pics, but somehow i didn't really take any in Cozumel and the dance club ones have all mysteriously been deleted :)
Once again we had a great vacation with great friends! We have already started planning for next year!
